The contract,
end to end.
Five steps, always forward
Every deal walks the same five steps. Money only moves forward, never back. Once a deal is settled, it stays settled.
- Waiting for deposit: the buyer has not paid yet, so either side can still walk away.
- Waiting for delivery: the money is locked in. If the seller never delivers, the buyer can take it back.
- Delivered: the seller says the job is done. The buyer confirms and the seller is paid. A silent buyer cannot stall forever: the seller can collect after the deadline.
- Disputed: either side can call in the arbiters. See below.
- Settled: the split is final and each side withdraws their share.
Majority wins, one vote never rules
Before any money moves, both sides approve 1 to 3 arbiters. If there is a dispute, each arbiter proposes a split and writes down why. The moment a majority proposes the exact same split, the money moves on its own.
Three arbiters is the default: rigging the outcome takes two people agreeing on the same number, in public. One arbiter is faster but means trusting a single person. Every proposal and every reason stays visible forever.
Money can never get stuck
Three things can go wrong, and each one has a rescue button. Anyone can press it, including you.
- Seller never delivers: the buyer gets a full refund.
- Buyer goes silent after delivery: the seller gets paid.
- Arbiters cannot agree in time: the deposit splits 50/50.
Changed your mind? Cancel together
If both sides agree the deal should not happen, both press cancel and the buyer is refunded. No arbiters needed. Either side can take their cancel back before both agree.
Nobody can touch your payout
The code behind each deal can be paused or improved, but only after a 2-day public waiting period. And one rule never changes: money already credited to you can always be withdrawn. Nobody can redirect or freeze your payout.
Public terms, private thread
The deal itself is public: who is involved, how much is locked, and what stage it is at. Anyone can check that before joining. The chat and the uploaded files are private: only the buyer, the seller, and the arbiters can see them. You unlock them with a free signature, no gas fees.
Two warnings. The files are not encrypted, so never upload secrets. And the chat is a working channel, not proof. If something must be provable, it belongs in the arbiter's written reason, which lives on-chain forever.
Where your money lives
One web app does everything. Deal terms and money live on Ethereum. Messages and files live in a private database so pages load fast. If that database ever disappears, your money is still safe: it lives on-chain, not in the app.
Questions you'll ask before depositing
How many arbiters should I pick?
Three for anything serious. Moving money takes two of them agreeing, so one bad actor cannot decide alone. One is fine only if both sides fully trust that person.
What happens if the arbiters go offline?
The deposit splits 50/50 after the deadline. Money never gets stuck. Watch the countdown and press the button yourself if you need to.
Can the deployer steal my funds?
No. Nobody, not even the people who built this, can redirect your money. Withdrawals always work.
Why can I see deals I'm not a party to?
Deal basics are public, like a land registry. The chat and the files stay private to the people in the deal.
Is this audited?
No. This is testnet software. Never put real money in it.
Can I use tokens instead of ETH?
No, ETH only for now.
